WOW, Thank You So Much... To All Of You, And Especially Athé, Who Astounds Me...! Thx A Lot.

Whouhou!!!! I was sooo glad...), et j'ai vécu comme dans un rêve... physiquement à la fois si loin mais si près de l'Angleterre... :-)

National Portrait Gallery Of London

National Portrait Gallery Of London

L'exposition s'appelle "Most People Are Other People : Portraits of Actors from Britain and Ireland" Il sera accroché à côté d'immenses acteurs de cinéma et de théâtre, et c'est un immense honneur pour Dan, qui déclare "I am absolutely delighted to have been chosen to be included in Stuart Pearson Wright's exhibition and to be part of such an esteemed group of people. I've never sat for a portrait and found the whole experience fascinating. And I love the finished result."

Until recently, I'd seen a peek of it in the catalogue, but not actually seen the real thing. It was strange seeing myself as I was two years ago, not as I am now. If you look at each individual part of my face they look exactly like part of my face. Together it's surreal."

DANIEL RADCLIFFE DRAWING ACQUIRED BY NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY

16-year-old Harry Potter star becomes one of the youngest to enter the Collection of the National Portrait Gallery as his new portrait drawing, by Stuart Pearson Wright, is unveiled

Actor Daniel Radcliffe will be among the youngest to join the National Portrait Gallery's Collection when his portrait drawing by BP Award winner Stuart Pearson Wright is acquired by the Gallery following its unveiling at the National Theatre tomorrow (Wed 12 April). The pencil drawing of Daniel acquired alongside nine other actor portraits by the artist whose three-dimensional study of J K Rowling unveiled at the Gallery last year has already become a huge favourite with visitors. The actor portraits form part of a simultaneous exhibition of over 40 new drawings opening tomorrow at the National Theatre and at the National Portrait Gallery.

Daniel is shown sitting in an armchair in the artist's studio looking relaxed and informally dressed but with an alert and penetrating expression. “Most People are Other People:” Portraits of Actors from Britain and Ireland by Stuart Pearson Wright brings together actors from film, theatre and television. The drawings give us a rare insight into the private moments behind the public image, raising questions of self, reality, and the performance of the everyday. The Gallery acquisitions on show at the National Theatre are Stuart's new portraits of Bend it Like Beckham's Parminder Nagra and rising British film star Natalie Press. Stuart's drawings of Nonso Anozie, Jeremy Irons, Jonny Lee Miller, Geoffrey Palmer, Alan Rickman, Timothy Spall and Alison Steadman are the acquisitions now showing at the National Portrait Gallery.

Daniel Radcliffe is best known for his role as Harry Potter. Playing the role has won him worldwide acclaim and a number of awards. He first appeared on British television in December 1999 when he played the title role in the BBC's David Copperfield. Prior to filming the first Harry Potter feature he made his debut in John Boorman's The Tailor of Panama. He has just completed filming in December Boys and is now shooting the fifth Potter film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Daniel is shortly to appear in Ricky Gervais's acclaimed BBC comedy Extras. With the exception of members of the Royal Family and group portraits with babies mostly in photographs, the 16-year-old actor becomes one of the youngest sitters for an individual portrait in the National Portrait Gallery.

Just One Word : WOOOOOOOOW... It's An Outstanding Achievement ! Huge Huge Well Done And Congrats To Dan... ! So Glad!!!!!

UPDATE : Voici ce que le desinateur a a dire de Dan : "Pearson Wright - who notoriously once painted Prince Philip naked from the waist up - said Radcliffe had been "enthusiastic and helpful. He couldn't have been a more agreeable sitter. I dropped my rubber at one point and he practically threw himself across the room to pick it up for me."
But, he said, he felt that this was "not my best drawing", and he had felt stumped by Radcliffe's very cheerfulness and youth.
"It was quite a challenge," said Pearson Wright. "As people's faces get older they get blighted by cynicism and evidence of broken hearts and all the things that go wrong in life. When you draw someone so young, there is little evidence of any real trauma."

"It's not that Daniel lacked character, it was just that he had an extreme openness and lack of cynicism - and it was difficult to know what to do with that. I have a particular affinity with grizzly old men."

Radcliffe - who said he had found the the experience of sitting for his portrait fascinating - came to Pearson Wright's studio for three sittings. "We talked about bands he liked, what he wanted to do - and he was very interested in the process," said the artist."
